Founded by a passionate team that believes in bringing positive impact to the world, Biochar+ Asia brings together a unique blend of expertise from biochar production, carbon credit certification, and technology solutions. Led by Wongpai, the expert in biochar advocacy and production in Thailand, and our tech-focus team from Q3, we're committed to driving meaningful change in Asia.

Our journey began in 2023, with a spark of inspiration – the remarkable Biocharphoenix project, the world's tallest Biochar art installation, spearheaded by Wongphai and Benjamin Von Wong, alongside a dedicated team of 38 volunteers, and that's how the founding team members met each other.

Witnessing the transformative potential of biochar firsthand ignited a collective vision among them, "What if this could be something bigger? Not just an art installation, but we could share it with more individuals and farmers, not just in Thailand but more countries in Asia?" and we can't stop wondering, what if this works? With this shared vision, we are here now, taking action to our words and committed to creating a more sustainable future for all.

Wongphai Group Thailand

Founded in 2020 during the COVID pandemic, WongPhai, led by Khomchalat “Kom” Thongting, is an environmental impact organization championing bamboo's ecological and economic potential.

By advocating for bamboo's use, they tackle waste management, deforestation, and carbon emissions while empowering Thai communities through education and sustainable practices. WongPhai's innovative approach combines technology with traditional knowledge, aiming to create a zero-waste industry and combat climate change by turning bamboo waste into biochar.

Their efforts contribute to environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the integration of bamboo into the green economy, fostering a brighter future for both local communities and the planet.
